Your First Part
1. Open the Part Designer
From the app, select Part Designer. Choose the Bracket Designer template — it's the most common starting point and covers the key concepts you'll use across all templates.
2. Set Dimensions
Adjust the parameter sliders on the left panel:
- Width / Height — outer dimensions of the bracket
- Bend angle — typically 90° for a standard L-bracket
- Bend position — how far along the part the fold occurs
- Hole diameter / count — mounting holes on the flange
- Corner radius — rounds the outer corners of the cut profile
The 3D preview on the right updates in real time. Use click-and-drag to orbit and scroll to zoom.
3. Select Material and Quantity
Pick a material (e.g. Mild Steel 250 — 2 mm) from the dropdowns below the 3D view. The price updates immediately. Try changing the quantity — you'll see per-unit cost decrease on larger runs.
If any DFM issues are flagged (red cards = errors, yellow = warnings), review them and adjust your dimensions accordingly. Errors must be resolved before you can add to cart.
4. Add to Cart and Order
Once all DFM checks pass, click Add to Cart. Review your cart, then proceed to checkout. Payment is handled by Stripe — your card details are never stored on our servers. After payment, your order appears in My Orders.
