What is powder coating?
Powder coating applies a dry powder to the part electrostatically, then cures it in an oven to form a hard, bonded coating. Compared with wet paint it gives an even film without runs or drips, and it stands up well to handling, weather and knocks.
It is the finish we recommend for mild steel parts that will live outdoors or be handled regularly, and it works on aluminium and stainless steel too.

It adds time
Coating and curing happen after cutting and folding, so powder coated orders take longer than raw parts. The turnaround is confirmed at checkout.
Coating thickness and holes
The coating adds a thin layer to every surface, including the inside of holes. Allow a little clearance on tight-fitting holes and slots.
Custom colours are confirmed first
If you choose a custom colour we confirm availability with you before production starts. A RAL reference is the quickest way to tell us what you need.
