Getting Started
- Partspark is an on-demand sheet metal manufacturing service based in Brisbane. Upload a DXF or SVG, or start from one of our part templates, get an instant price, and order laser-cut and CNC-folded parts in mild steel, aluminium or stainless steel.
- Create a free account at app.partspark.com.au, upload your DXF or SVG (or open the Part Designer), choose your material, thickness, bends and finish, and you will see a price straight away. There is no minimum order quantity.
- No. Order a single part or a batch. Quantity pricing applies automatically as you add parts to an order.
File Uploads & Design
- DXF and SVG. STEP (STP) upload is coming. In the meantime, export a flat DXF from your CAD tool, or build the part in the Part Designer.
- Yes. The platform evaluates your design at upload time and flags common manufacturing pitfalls such as holes too close to a bend line, floating elements and impossible bends. Where it can, it also tells you how to fix the problem.
- If the uploader flags something, it tells you what to change. If you would rather we handle it, send a brief through the app and the team will come back to you. Any design work is quoted separately before we start.
Pricing & Quotes
- Prices are calculated instantly from your part: the material and sheet area it uses, the cut length, the number of bends, the finish and the quantity. Prices are shown ex-GST and GST is added at checkout. There are no platform fees, setup fees or minimums.
- Yes. Quantity pricing starts from as few as two parts and applies across all parts in an order that are cut from the same material, not just identical parts. You see the discounted price in your instant quote.
- No. The price you see is the manufacturing price for your parts. GST and shipping are added at checkout.
Materials
We currently stock sheet in:
- Mild steel (grades 250 and 350)
- Aluminium (5052 and 6061)
- Stainless steel (304 and 316)
All sourced from Australian suppliers.
- Sheet from 0.9 mm to 10 mm, depending on the material and grade. The thicknesses available for your chosen material are shown in the app when you select it.
- If you need material certificates with your order, get in touch before you order and we will confirm what is available for your material and grade.
Production & Lead Times
- Typical turnaround is a few business days, confirmed at checkout. Finishes such as powder coating add time.
- We do not offer rush or express tiers at the moment. If you have a hard deadline, contact us before ordering and we will tell you whether we can meet it.
- You can follow your order from the My Orders page in the app as it moves through production and shipping.
Quality & Tolerances
- Achievable tolerances depend on the material, thickness and process. If a dimension is critical to your application, note it when you order or contact us first and we will confirm what we can hold.
- Yes. Every part is checked before it ships. Parts that do not meet the order specification are remade rather than sent.
- Contact us with photos of the issue and your order number. We will review it promptly and either remake the part or refund it, and we cover return shipping for parts that are our fault.
Finishes & Services
Three options at the moment:
- Raw / mill finish, straight off the laser
- Standard powder coat in black or white
- Custom-colour powder coat
- Not through the platform yet. Both are on the roadmap. If your project needs them now, send us a brief and we will let you know whether we can help.
- Welding and assembly are not available through the platform. If you have a project that needs them, send us a brief and we will tell you whether we can help or point you to someone who can.
Payment & Shipping
- Card payments (processed by Stripe) and bank transfer.
- We ship within Australia only at the moment.
- Shipping is calculated at checkout from your postcode and the weight of your order. We ship with Australia Post and road freight depending on the size of the parcel.
Account & Support
- Yes. Creating a free account takes a minute, and it keeps your design files and order history together so repeat orders are quick.
